June 2, 2021 – St. John’s, NL: Eastern Health today launched a virtual care survey to seek feedback from members of the public about their experiences with virtual care appointments within the health-care setting. Virtual care refers to any health-care appointment, not in-person, which was conducted via computer (desktop or laptop), telephone (landline or cell phone) or another mobile device (e.g. iPad, tablet). The perspectives gathered will provide valuable feedback and be used to help improve the patient experience with virtual care technologies in the future.
Virtual care appointments facilitated by Eastern Health enable individuals to talk to and possibly see their health-care team or doctor from the comfort of their own home, thereby eliminating the need to travel for some appointments. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, it is especially important for patients to have options for socially-distanced care.
The virtual care survey for adults will be anonymous and confidential, and can be completed online or by telephone:
- To complete the survey online, please visit: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/AdultVirtualCare.
- To complete the survey by phone, please call toll free 1-833-544-2076 and leave a message with your name, contact information and preferred time to participate in a telephone survey (Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.). A surveyor will call you back at the designated time to assist you with completing the survey over the phone.
- The survey will be open until the end of June 2021.
The virtual care survey should take approximately 5-10 minutes to complete and is open to all patients and clients aged 18+ who attended a virtual (online or telephone) health-care appointment with Eastern Health.
