Eastern Health Welcomes New Innovation Partners

September 14, 2021 – St. John’s, NL:  Eastern Health is pleased to announce the addition of four new innovation partners as vendors of record. Through partnerships, Eastern Health continues to provide exemplary care for patients, residents and clients in new and innovative ways while also providing economic benefits back to the province.

Through an open call Request for Supplier Qualification (RFSQ) process, Eastern Health formed innovation partnerships with vendors of record who can provide professional services to Eastern Health. These new partners are Accenture, Allscripts, Honeywell and Seafair Capital.

“We welcome these new partnerships and, by working together, we believe we can make further innovative improvements for the future,” said David Diamond, President and CEO of Eastern Health. “Our Innovation Strategy lays out our plan to improve health outcomes for our patients, residents and clients. In just a few short years, we have seen innovative advancements in diabetes management, improving employee psychological health and safety, COVID-19 pandemic response, cancer screening and emergency room surge management, to name just a few.”

In addition to four new vendors of record, Eastern Health also renewed seven existing partnerships with Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD), Deloitte, General Electric Healthcare, IBM, Vision 33 Inc., Medtronic, and Mobia Technology Innovations. As vendors of record, partners have unique opportunities to collaborate with Eastern Health on the development of innovative solutions for patient/service improvements. Eastern Health may do limited call for proposals or issue challenges to these vendors based on specific innovation requirements such as medical device design and implementation or application and software development.

The goals of Eastern Health’s Innovation Strategy are to improve health-care services and programs in Eastern Health through the application of innovative solutions; maximize health systems efficiencies and minimize associated costs by leveraging the innovation ecosystem to build partnerships and generate revenue; and generate economic development in the province and increase employment.
