Visitor Restrictions in Place at Blue Crest Nursing Home

October 1, 2021 – St. John’s, NL: Eastern Health advises the public that visitor restrictions are in place at Blue Crest Nursing Home in Grand Bank, due to an increase in respiratory illness. Immediate family members should contact the site directly at 709-832-1660 for further information.

When visitor restrictions are in place, visiting is prohibited and visitors are only permitted under exceptional circumstances; for example, palliative care visitation or as a designated support person that is deemed necessary for care. During visitor restrictions, any permitted visitors will be required to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment.

The public is asked not to visit any health-care facility if they feel ill or are experiencing flu-like or gastrointestinal symptoms. For infection prevention, the public is advised to wash their hands frequently, cover their coughs or sneezes with a tissue or the crook of their arms and refrain from touching their faces.

For up-to-date information on visitor restrictions and precautions, please refer to the Eastern Health website at www.easternhealth.ca/visitors/visitor-precautions-and-outbreaks/. Eastern Health apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
