Visitor Restrictions in Place at Saint Luke’s Homes and St. Patrick’s Mercy Home

December 28, 2021 – St. John’s, NL: Eastern Health advises the public that visitor restrictions are in place at the at Saint Luke’s Homes and St. Patrick’s Mercy Home in St. John’s due to a possible exposure to COVID-19. This is a temporary measure while the investigation is ongoing. Immediate family members should contact Saint Luke’s Homes directly at 709-752-8900 or St. Patrick’s Mercy Home at 709-726-2687 for further information.

The public is asked not to visit any health-care facility if they feel ill or are symptomatic. For infection prevention, the public is advised to wash their hands frequently, cover their coughs or sneezes with a tissue or the crook of their arms and refrain from touching their faces.

Eastern Health continues to be diligent in its management of this public health emergency. Enhanced cleaning protocols have been implemented and required personal protective equipment protocols for residents on isolation are being followed.

Eastern Health thanks the public for their support and reminds them of the importance of continuing to follow public health guidance to protect themselves, their loved ones, and their communities. These precautions are designed to help keep patients, clients, residents, visitors, staff and physicians safe and help in the prevention and spread of infection.
