Eastern Health Provides Update on Mental Health and Addictions Services

January 6, 2022 – St. John’s, NL: Eastern Health advises that Mental Health and Addictions services are proceeding virtually throughout the region.

In-person services will continue to be available for clients when clinically necessary. Individuals who have a previously scheduled mental health or addictions in-person counselling or psychiatry appointment should call their clinic prior to their visit to confirm the method of appointment.

All in-person mental health and addictions groups for outpatients have temporarily been suspended and individuals will be contacted regarding alternative service options. Residential treatment centres will operate at a reduced capacity.

DoorWays single session counselling services as well as other mental health and addictions services continue to be available virtually throughout the region. Individuals can also use Bridge the gapp, a provincial online mental health resource. The Mental Health and Addictions Systems Navigator can help guide those seeking mental health and addictions services and can be reached by calling 709-752-3916 or toll-free at 1-877-999-7589.
