COVID-19 First and Second Vaccination Clinics for Children 5 to 11 Years of Age

January 18, 2022 – St. John’s, NL:  Eastern Health would like to advise the public that additional COVID-19 first dose vaccination clinics have been added for children between 5 to 11 years of age throughout the region.

Parents are encouraged to book a first dose appointment for their child if they have not yet received a COVID-19 vaccination to date at the below locations and times:

St. John’s, 50 Mundy Pond Road (Former Public Service Commission Building)

  • January 19, 20 and 21, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

 Bell Island, St. Michael’s Parish Hall

  • January 22, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

 Carbonear, Fong’s Motel (Lower Level)

  • January 24, 2022 from 1:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

 Placentia, Freshwater Community Centre

  • January 27, 2022 from 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

 Holyrood, Legion

  • February 1, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

In addition, many children have already been prebooked for their second dose appointment when they received their first dose. For those children who did not receive a second dose appointment, Eastern Health will be offering clinics throughout the region. The National Advisory Committee of Immunization advises that there must be an eight-week interval between first and second doses.

Second dose appointments are now available to be booked at the below locations and times for children who received their first dose eight weeks ago starting on November 25, 2021:

St. John’s, 50 Mundy Pond Road (Former Public Service Commission Building)

  • January 22, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

 St. John’s, Village Mall

  • January 22, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Individuals may book an appointment at a clinic by visiting www.gov.nl.ca/covid-19/vaccine/gettheshot/  or by calling 1-833-951-3884 (toll free). When booking online, please select PEDIATRIC (5-11) COVID-19 Immunization Appointment before proceeding to book an appointment. We continue to add more appointments regularly and encourage individuals to continue to check availability, as needed.

The public is reminded that they should not attend an appointment for a vaccine if they are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. Instead, they should complete a COVID-19 Assessment by clicking here.
