May 2, 2022 – St. John’s, NL: Eastern Health advises the public that as of today, Monday, May 2, 2022, calls to the Mental Health Crisis Line will be transitioned to NL HealthLine 811. Anyone experiencing a mental health emergency can call 811. This number is available province-wide.
Any calls from 709-737-4668 or 1-888-737-4668 will be forwarded to 811 where experienced registered nurses will then triage and direct calls to mental health and addictions emergency staff. This transition ensures that anyone needing health services only have to remember one three-digit phone number. In addition, requests for the Mobile Crisis Response Team can be made by calling 811.
There are no changes to mental health and addiction emergency services and availability as a result of this transition.
