September 29, 2022 – St. John’s, NL: Eastern Health informs the public of upcoming temporary changes at the emergency and ambulance entrance areas of St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital. From 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2022 and Sunday, October 2, 2022, the emergency and ambulance entrances will be accessible from the St. Clare Avenue side only due to construction in the area.
Access from LeMarchant Road will be closed and patients and ambulances will be directed to the St. Clare Avenue entrance. Flag persons will be available to direct two-way traffic flow in and out of this area.
Drop off for emergency patients will not be affected, but parking will be prohibited in the area to ensure adequate space for ambulance turnaround.
Safeguards will be in place; however, the public is advised to proceed with caution and follow posted signage in the area and obey the directions of the flag persons directing traffic.
