April 22, 2023: Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services advises the public that work to replace the Computed Tomography (CT) medical imaging machine at the Janeway Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Centre will begin on Monday, April 24, 2023. As a result, the Child Rehabilitation entrance is closed.
Visitors and staff are advised to use the main entrances at the Janeway or Health Sciences Centre. Signage will be in place to help direct individuals.
To reduce the impact on medical imaging services during the replacement project, a mobile CT medical imaging machine will be installed adjacent to the Janeway underground parking lot. An enclosure to protect patients and medical imaging staff from the elements when using the mobile CT machine is being constructed and will remain in place until the replacement project is complete, estimated for Fall 2023.
