May 31, 2023: Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services advises that, effective Thursday, June 1, 2023, a new pay-as-you-go parking system will be implemented at hospital public parking lots located at both St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital and the Dr. L.A. Miller Centre. This system will replace the former metered system at both sites. The parking rate at both sites will be $0.75/hour. Signage is in place to assist.
Clients will now have two payment options:
Option 1: Upon arriving at either site, clients can use their smartphone to scan one of the posted QR codes, which will bring them directly to Concord Parking’s SMRT Pass site, where they can then select their location, enter their license plate number and credit card information, and select the estimated parking time required. This option will also prompt clients 15 minutes before their estimated time expires and enable additional time to be added, if required.
Option 2: Upon arriving at either site, clients can proceed to one of the pay stations located inside the lobby and enter their license plate number and the estimated parking time required. Clients can revisit the station to add additional time, if needed. These stations accept coins, debit and credit cards, and payment via smartphone.
Parking enforcement will operate between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, and from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, at Dr. L.A. Miller Centre.
The new pay-as-you-go parking system will allow patients, clients, and visitors to more effectively manage the amount of parking time they require and eliminate the need to regularly return to their vehicles to feed meters, resulting in an enhanced parking experience.
