Eastern Health Launches New Temporary COVID-19 Booster Clinic for Adults

January 4, 2022 – St. John’s, NL: Eastern Health advises of a new COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic at the Reid Community Centre, 126 Smallwood Drive in Mount Pearl, NL, for individuals 30 years of age and older. Appointments will be available from January 4-14, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

To meet the 22-week requirement between the second dose and the booster dose, only those who received their second dose on or before August 2, 2021 will qualify. Moderna vaccine only will be offered at this clinic.

Eastern Health would also like to advise seniors 70 and over they can now avail of a number of appointments at clinics throughout the region. There will be a number of appointments allocated for seniors 70 years of age and older, which can be booked online or by phone.

All individuals may book an appointment by visiting www.gov.nl.ca/covid-19/vaccine/gettheshot/ or by calling 1-833-951-3884 (toll free). The public are reminded to bring their VaxPass, including date of second dose, and their MCP card, and to wear a short-sleeved shirt and bring their own pen, if possible.

Significant efforts have been made to ensure that public health measures are in place for the protection of those receiving their booster shots as well as for health care staff. Individuals will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms at the entrance, be required to wear a mask, and observe good infection prevention and control practices.
