January 31, 2022 – St. John’s, NL: Eastern Health advises the public that installation of a new state-of-the-art X-ray machine at the Bonavista Peninsula Health Centre is scheduled to begin on February 7, 2022. The new, fully digital X-ray machine will produce higher quality medical images to support more accurate diagnoses and better outcomes for patients.
The installation of the new X-ray machine will require temporary changes to outpatient X-ray services at the health centre. Beginning on February 7, for approximately two months, outpatient X-ray services for residents of the Bonavista Peninsula will be temporarily provided at the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville. During this time, limited X-ray services will continue to be available in Bonavista for inpatients, emergency department patients and long-term care residents.
Eastern Health apologizes for any inconvenience this temporary change in service may cause; however, the scheduled upgrade will improve health-care delivery for the residents of the Bonavista Peninsula.
