Eastern Health Provides Update on Visitor Restrictions at Blue Crest Nursing Home

March 18, 2022 – St. John’s, NL:  Eastern Health advises the public of upcoming changes to visitor restrictions at Blue Crest Nursing Home in Grand Bank, originally implemented on March 6, 2022, due to COVID-19.

Effective tomorrow, March 19, 2022, each resident is permitted to have one designated visitor. Palliative care and end-of-life visitation should be discussed with the health-care team. Immediate family members may contact their assigned unit or the site at 709-832-1660 for further information.

This is a temporary measure to assist in reducing the spread of COVID-19 and will be reassessed regularly to determine when visitation can safely resume.

Eastern Health reminds visitors of ongoing COVID-19 protocols in place at health-care facilities, including COVID-19 self-screening for visitors/support persons and masking requirements.

Visitor restrictions during the pandemic have been critically important to the safety of our residents, patients, staff and physicians. For more information about current visitation guidelines, please visit the ‘Visiting during the COVID-19 pandemic’ webpage via https://www.easternhealth.ca/covid19/visiting-during-the-covid-19-pandemic/.
