March 21, 2022 – St. John’s, NL: Eastern Health advises the public that visitor restrictions are temporarily in place on the second floor at Salvation Army Glenbrook Lodge in St. John’s, due to cases of COVID-19 among residents. Visitation to the first floor is not impacted at this time.
While visitor restrictions are in place, each resident on the second floor is permitted to have one designated visitor. Palliative care and end-of-life visitation should be discussed with the health-care team. Immediate family members may contact their assigned unit or the site at 709-726-1575 for further information.
This is a temporary measure to assist in reducing the spread of COVID-19 and will be reassessed regularly to determine when full visitation can safely resume.
Visitor restrictions during the pandemic have been critically important to the safety of our residents, patients, staff and physicians. For more information about visitation guidelines, please visit the ‘Visiting during the COVID-19 pandemic’ webpage via https://www.easternhealth.ca/covid19/visiting-during-the-covid-19-pandemic/.
The public is asked not to visit any long-term care facility if they feel ill or are symptomatic. For infection prevention, the public is advised to wash their hands frequently, cover their coughs or sneezes with a tissue or the crook of their arms and refrain from touching their faces.
Eastern Health thanks the public for their support and reminds them of the importance of continuing to follow public health guidance to protect themselves, their loved ones, and their communities. These precautions are designed to help keep patients, clients, residents, visitors, staff and physicians safe and help in the prevention and spread of infection.
For up-to-date information on visitor restrictions and precautions, please refer to the Eastern Health website at www.easternhealth.ca/visitors/visitor-precautions-and-outbreaks/. Eastern Health apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
