Visitor Restrictions in Place at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home

May 20, 2022 – St. John’s, NL: Eastern Health advises the public that visitor restrictions are in place on units 3 north south and 3 east west at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home in St. John’s, due to an increase in gastrointestinal illness. Immediate family members should contact the site directly at 709-752-8752 for further information.

Eastern Health is strongly recommending that the public do not visit these units, however, if necessary, visitation will be limited to one designated visitor per resident. During visitor restrictions, any permitted visitors will be required to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment.

The public is asked not to visit any health-care facility if they feel ill or are experiencing flu-like or gastrointestinal symptoms. For infection prevention, the public is advised to wash their hands frequently, cover their coughs or sneezes with a tissue or the crook of their arms and refrain from touching their faces.

For up-to-date information on visitor restrictions and precautions, please refer to the Eastern Health website at www.easternhealth.ca/visitors/visitor-precautions-and-outbreaks/. Eastern Health apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
