February 3, 2022 – St. John’s, NL: Eastern Health advises the public that the Emergency Department at the Dr. William H. Newhook Community Health Centre in Whitbourne will reopen on Friday, February 4, 2022. Emergency Department services will be available Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Patients in the area who require emergency services after 4:00 p.m. are advised to go to the nearest open emergency department in Carbonear, Placentia or St. John’s, or to call 911 for assistance. This will ensure that residents of the area receive safe, quality patient care while Eastern Health continues its efforts to address current staffing challenges.
Safe, quality patient care is a top priority for Eastern Health and we will continue to support the community as we work to ensure services are available when needed.
