Eastern Health Encouraging Individuals to Cancel Duplicate COVID-19 Vaccine Appointments

July 20, 2021 – St. John’s, NL:  Eastern Health is reminding individuals of the importance of canceling appointments which are no longer required at COVID-19 vaccine clinics. This may include previously scheduled appointments due to a change in appointment time or location, i.e., getting a vaccine from a physician or pharmacist. Individuals may cancel their appointment through their reminder email, the Pomelo website or by calling 1-800-563-3692 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Earlier Appointments Now Available at COVID-19 Clinics

July 15, 2021 – St. John’s, NL:  Eastern Health advises the public that it is now offering earlier appointments for COVID-19 second dose vaccines to individuals 12 years of age and older. Starting today, those who are due for their second dose will be able to move their appointment to 28 days after their first dose. Temporary Closure of Main Entrance of Health Sciences Centre

July 9, 2021 – St. John’s, NL: Eastern Health informs the public that the main entrance of the Health Sciences Centre will be temporarily closed on Monday, July 12, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until approximately 10:00 p.m. This closure is necessary to accommodate the lifting and installation of new mechanical equipment on the roof near the HSC’s main entrance. Updates on Visitor Restrictions and COVID-19 Testing for Hospital Admissions

June 30, 2021 – St. John’s, NL: Eastern Health reminds the public of visitor restrictions and advises of updates to routine surveillance COVID-19 testing for hospital admissions. All support persons/visitors must continue to register upon arrival to a health-care facility and be screened prior to the visit. Opening of Temporary Drive-Through COVID-19 Testing Clinic for Travellers

June 30, 2021 – St. John’s, NL:  Eastern Health advises the public of a new temporary drive-through COVID-19 testing clinic for travellers who require a COVID-19 test upon arrival to the St. John’s International Airport and other entry points into the region. The testing clinic, which is by appointment only, will open on July 1, 2021, and hours of operation are 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m., seven days a week.(*Effective July 11, 2021, the hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., seven days a week, but are subject to change based on demand.) Additional COVID-19 Clinics Added to Booking System for mRNA Vaccine

June 25, 2021 – St. John’s, NL: Eastern Health advises the public that additional first and second dose appointments are now available throughout the region. More appointments will be added next week and people are encouraged to check the Pomelo website. Based on the current vaccine supply, most of the Eastern Health clinics are now offering Moderna. COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics Available for Individuals with Increased Risk of Allergic Reaction to Vaccine

June 25, 2021 – St. John’s, NL: Eastern Health advises the public that they are arranging vaccine appointments for individuals who have been advised by either public health or their health-care provider that they should receive their first or second dose of COVID-19 vaccine in a hospital setting, due to an increased risk of a severe reaction to the vaccine. Temporary Changes at Emergency Entrance of St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital

June 18, 2021 – St. John’s, NL: Eastern Health informs the public of upcoming temporary changes at the entrance of the emergency department of St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital. Reconfiguration of Visitor and Staff Parking Lots at Dr. L.A. Miller Centre

June 18, 2021 – St. John’s, NL: Eastern Health advises the public of a reconfiguration in parking lot locations at Dr. L.A. Miller Centre effective Monday, June 21, 2021. The current ‘visitor only’ parking lot will be relocated to the 9A/C parking lot near the Southcott Hall main block, and staff who previously parked at the 9A/C parking lot will move to the former ‘visitor only’ parking lot. Change in Date for COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic in Ferryland

June 18, 2021 – St. John’s, NL: Eastern Health advises that the COVID-19 vaccine clinic scheduled for Thursday, June 24 in Ferryland will now take place on Wednesday, June 23. Appointments previously scheduled for June 24 will automatically be transferred to the same time on June 23. If an individual is not able to attend their new appointment time on June 23, please visit https://www.gov.nl.ca/covid-19/vaccine/gettheshot/ to schedule a new appointment. Earlier Appointments Now Available for Second Dose COVID-19 Vaccines

June 4, 2021 – St. John’s, NL: Eastern Health is now offering earlier appointments for COVID-19 second dose vaccines. These appointments are based on when first doses were administered to assist with the province’s reopening plan. Starting today through a phased-in approach, those who are due for their second dose will be able to move their appointment up to within eight weeks of their first dose. Eastern Health Launches Virtual Care Survey

June 2, 2021 – St. John’s, NL: Eastern Health today launched a virtual care survey to seek feedback from members of the public about their experiences with virtual care appointments within the health-care setting. Virtual care refers to any health-care appointment, not in-person, which was conducted via computer (desktop or laptop), telephone (landline or cell phone) or another mobile device (e.g. iPad, tablet). The perspectives gathered will provide valuable feedback and be used to help improve the patient experience with virtual care technologies in the future.
