Eastern Health Opens Additional Drive-Through COVID-19 Testing on the Burin Peninsula

UPDATE: October 24, 2021 – Eastern Health’s additional drive-through COVID-19 Testing Clinic on the Burin Peninsula on Sunday Oct. 24, is operating extended hours to accommodate the increase demand for testing in the area.

October 22, 2021 – St. John’s, NL: Eastern Health is offering a temporary COVID-19 testing clinic on the Burin Peninsula this weekend, in response to a recent rise in the number of COVID-19 cases in the region.

Testing is available by appointment only and will be held at the Marystown Community Service Building, 10-12 Harris Drive Industrial Park on:

Eastern Health Implements Visitor Restrictions on the Burin Peninsula

October 22, 2021 – St. John’s, NL: Eastern Health advises the public of the implementation of temporary visitor restrictions for hospital patients and long-term care and personal care home residents at all facilities and sites on the Burin Peninsula, due to an increase in COVID-19 cases and ongoing investigation in the area. Effective immediately, two designated visitors and a support person (if required) are permitted for inpatients in a hospital setting and residents of long-term care homes. Eastern Health Provides Update on Vaccine Passport Requirements for Visitation

October 21, 2021 – St. John’s, NL: Eastern Health advises that, in line with provincial guidelines regarding the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador’s vaccine passport, visitors to long-term care facilities, personal care homes and community care homes will be required to present proof of COVID-19 vaccination or an approved medical exemption, effective October 22, 2021. October 6, 2021 – St. John’s, NL:  Eastern Health advises the public that Carbonear General Hospital is currently experiencing problems with its inbound and outbound phone lines. The public are able to call the main switchboard at (709) 945-6246. In addition, Carbonear residents needing to call the fire department, should dial 911 as the direct lines are also experiencing problems. Private Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavillion is unaffected. Eastern Health Offering Youth COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics

July 27, 2021 – St. John’s, NL:  Eastern Health is advising that there is a walk-in COVID-19 vaccine clinic specific to youth 12 to 17 years old today, July 27, 2021, at the Village Mall in St. John’s. The clinic is currently ongoing and is scheduled until 5:00 p.m., or while supply is available. There are a maximum of 100 doses available. Appointments are not required for this clinic. Eastern Health Advises of Youth COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic in Harbour Grace

July 23, 2021 – St. John’s, NL:  Eastern Health is advising that there are clinic appointments available for youth 12 to 17 years old today, Friday, July 23, at the Danny Cleary Stadium in Harbour Grace. Eastern Health Provides Update on Visitation

July 22, 2021 – St. John’s, NL: Eastern Health advises that, in line with provincial guidelines, general visitation is permitted, effective Friday, July 23, for all provincially-operated acute care facilities, health centres and long-term care facilities as well as privately-operated long-term care homes, personal care homes, and community care homes. While restrictions are eased, alternatives to in-person visiting are encouraged such as virtual visits, outdoor visits when possible, and phone calls when possible.
